One Life is a charitable organisation that has been set up to help accommodate, feed and educate the children of Nseleni and surrounding districts, Kwazulu, South Africa.
The two main projects we support are the Thandukuphila Centre and Hope Project

Marathon Walk in France
This morning Oct 6th I received an email from a sponsor, Tracey Williams, telling me that her husband and friend are planning to run the marathon in La Rochelle, France in aid of One Life in November.
This was such welcome news as many people people for various reasons have dropped out of the One Life sponsored walk to be held next Sat Oct 11th.
My grateful thanks go to Tracey and her husband and friend.
Money sent to S Africa
On 30th September £900 was sent out to the Thandukuphila Centre, Nseleni, South Africa.
Very recently the electricity cables had been dug up and stolen and Nseleni was left for days without electricity. Apart from it being very cold there right now all the food kept in the freezers for the crèche and school children was ruined and they survived on apples, oranges and Peanut Butter sandwiches. The money sent is to refill the freezers as the electricity is now back on and for any other goods needed.
Money Raised
On Sunday 28th September £130 was raised from the sale of Handmade Greeting cards, African bracelets and Bric a Brac. This sale was held after the morning service at St Anne's Parish Church, Highams Park.
Grateful thanks go to everyone who supported One Life and to the vicar Jude for allowing us to sell the goods in the church hall.

Supper/Charity Auction
On Saturday February 2nd 2008 a Supper/Charity Auction is to be held in St Ann'es Church Hall, Larkshall Road E4. Everyone is invited to bring unwanted items to auction and the proceeds are to be donated to One Life. This donation will go towards One Life's Shack Repair Fund..
Fund Raise Event
A Fund Raise Event will be held in the Methodist Church Hall, New Road, Chingford on Nov 3rd at 11-30am. There will be light refreshments and home made cakes, a raffle, Prize Bingo, various stalls, face painting, a touch of Belly Dancing and Alternative Therapies for g; Indian Head Massage, Reflexology etc.

The Annual Sponsored Walk.
The Sponsored Walk this year will be held on Saturday May 12th. We are meeting at 11 0'clock at Nelson's Column, Trafalgar Square and walking down The Mall towards Buckingham Palace. Turning left at the end of The Mall we will enter St Jame's Park and the plan is to walk five times round the park taking a packed lunch break about half way through. We will then continue back up The Mall to Nelson's Column where the walk will officially end.
I do not know the exact time of finishing but hopefully any time between three and four o'clock in the afternoon.

Saints and Sinners Charity Night
A Saints and Sinners Charity night is being held at Bar Saaqi. All proceeds will come to One Life.

Ploughmans Supper / Charity Auction
On Friday the 13th April A Ploughman's Supper / Charity Auction will be held in St Anne's Church Hall, 200a Larkshall Road, Chingford E4. Proceeds will come to One Life Charity.
Bring an item to auction with you. These auctions are great fun and interesting surprise items turn up for the bidding.
Tickets are £8 per head and this includes the Ploughman's Supper. Please bring your own bottle if required.
